Pain

Pain comes in different forms, mental, emotional and physical, each one having a profound effect on the other and on our overall well-being. In saying that, pain is a beautiful teacher indeed.

Being in pain can cause us to feel frustrated, anxious, lost, depressed or even disconnected from the world. This is our body’s way of saying:

STOP!
That’s enough!
You need some rest…

Mental Heath

As we have grown up, we have learnt and been taught to suck it up, or deal with it. We ignore our body’s warning signals (body alarm) and carry on, all the while causing further damage and more pain to ourselves.

Emotional Health

In extreme cases your body will force you to rest, sometimes leaving you feeling “hungover” for days.

It is crucial for us to not only recognise the pain but to be aware of the triggers, intensity, peaks and trough’s, as well as worsening or curing factors and what help is available. Ask yourself some simple questions.

Why am I in pain?
When am I in pain?
Where am I in pain?
What may have caused the pain or who can help alleviate the pain?
What can I do to relieve the pain?

The challenge we currently experience is whether to trust legacy treatments and modality systems or to embrace and pursue alternative ways of self-healing by understanding our pain and how to manage it until healing begins. These practices will aid in maintaining and elevating mental, emotional and physical health.

There are many non-invasive alternative modalities that can help us manage, control and aid in alleviating our pain.
